AUTHOR'S POV
"SHIT" sidhi shouted and pallavi get back from her thoughts by a sudden jerk of brake and her head hit just above the glove compartment. She held her head and saw a lady in front who was crossing the road and Sidhi was gonna hit her but thank god she is okay. Pallavi came out of the car with Sidhi apologising to the lady. Sidhi was afraid and stood numb.
"We're really sorry aunty. it wasn't intentional. please forgive us. are you okay? are you hurt anywhere? show me is there any injury?" Pallavi asked in one go as she was worried for the lady.
The lady smiled and said "I'm alright beta (child) nothing happened to me don't worry also it's not your mistake it was me who wasn't looking anywhere and walking straight to visit the temple." pallavi wasn't satisfied and took her to the temple and there pallavi offered her to sit on the seat present outside the temple.
Sidhi brought a water bottle for the lady on order of pallavi. pallavi gave her the water bottle to drink and sat on her knees to check her hand, head and foot to ensure whether she is hurt or not and again asks her "aunty please tell me if you're hurt anywhere you're like our mother please" and lady said "beta i am alright believe me as u said i'm like mother to you so how can a daughter hurt her mother" pallavi just nodded her head and decided to leave.
"Where are you going beta?" the lady asked and Pallavi looked back at her with a confused face. The lady continued "you are here in the temple so you should visit inside and take blessings of god. One should never leave the temple without visiting inside" pallavi didn't give any thought and agreed then they bought sweets and flowers to offer to lord and went inside.
Pallavi performed pooja with the lady and it was aarti time (Hindu ritual of worship) and the lady was amazed by pallavi because she didn't think pallavi is connected to our culture. Pallavi sung the prayer really well and after aarti she chanted some mantras and prayed to god then took their blessings and pandit ji's too.
The lady was so impressed that she asked "beta what is your name?" pallavi answered "Pallavi" and sidhi interrupted them "Pallavi Grandpa is calling you urgently you have to reach there in 20 mins it's really too late and we have came up with emergency be fast i'm starting the car" pallavi touched feet of the lady bidding bye but lady hugged her and said "Reach home safely hope to meet you soon" and pallavi left from there.
Pallavi's POV
Soon we reached the mansion in just 12 mins because I drove the car at high speed. If you ask who dares to risk her life then the answer is me and I do so with interest. I got inside with heavy breathing because I ran inside and before entering the living room i tried to calm my breath and then after 1 minute.
I went inside and met dadu who was really disappointed. "Good Evening dadu, are you okay?" I asked "No where were you from this morning? you didn't eat breakfast too and see how late you are" dadu said without looking at me. "Sorry dadu, I woke up late today and had to meet Siya. She was waiting for me so i left in a hurry but i did my breakfast and lunch too" i said and hope that he don't get to know i went without guards.
"Okay fine but it shouldn't repeat again" dadu said and looked at me but he was shocked. "thank you dadu you're the best" i said and dadu asked in his high authoritative voice and worried face "what happened to you. Your head is swollen and blue?" and i touched my head and "AHHH" sound let out of my throat because of pain dadu was raising his brow in question and then i realised it happened when sidhi made sudden brake and my head got hit.
"dadu it's nothing, a lady came in front of our car and sidhi made a sudden brake and i got my head hit the car front. thank god nothing happened to the lady nor us so don't worry" i said assuring dadu. "Didn't you use your seat belt?" dadu asked "i always use it dadu" i answered "then sidhi you're really a bad driver you need a driver. Princess, take care of yourself. Do you need doctor let me call them" dadu said and i stopped him.
" dadu-dadu my dear dadu, I don't need any doctor i'm okay look i am smiling and there is just little swell on my head nothing more i'll just use a muscle gel to soothe the pain" i said and he agreed "Sir i don't need the driver it don't happen always sometimes wrong things happen by bad luck" sidhi answered and dadu nodded.
"Hey Jay, when did you come back? i was waiting for you" dadu said and i saw jay coming towards me and dadu. He hugged dadu and said "I am here from 5 minutes when our princess was answering your question" and moved to my side whispering in my ear "should i tell dadu you escaped from the mansion without guards" i was still and shocked by his words. I moved my face to his side pleading for forgiveness and he smirked.
"Jay and Pallavi today we're going to attend an important party not just for business but as a family too. Kapoor's are our relatives pallavi you wouldn't know as you haven't met them in past years due to studies and all but we're going to meet them together now cause you have grown up.
I won't tell you the whole story because of the short time we have but let me tell you the needed information. Raghav is the grandson of my best friend who died many years ago when you all were kids" dadu said and ordered us to get ready soon in an hour. It's going to be 7 soon and I am really tired.
I offered Sidhi a guest room to get ready and she can pick any dress and jewellery the designers brought for me. I'm still amazed why I need designers and all today is it really that important but I shrugged the thought and moved to the washroom to take a shower.
I got out in my bathrobe and started drying my hair and ordered maids to call designers to my room and then I chose my dress. I don’t know much about parties and as they are relatives I don't prefer to wear revealing clothes and with the help of designers i got ready soon in 40 minutes. I specially asked them to not put on a lot of makeup cause I prefer natural look and I am happy with their work.
Soon sidhi came to my room and appreciated my look “Pallavi you are looking like a princess really. Men can’t resist you. you are gorgeous” i gave her a smile and said “you too this dress really suits you. Nice work by designers, thank you all” and then Sidhi asked me to leave for the party.
Dadu, Dadi and Jay were waiting for us. Dadi put kohl behind my ear to save me from evil eyes because I am looking pretty, gorgeous, beautiful, stunning and so more to all. Then we left for the party. Dadu and Dadi went in one car and me, sidhi and jay in the next car. We all took the driver and 4 cards of guards at our back and forth while in the middle there was first our grandparents car and next mine.
Sidhi sat in the passenger seat while I sat in the back seat with Jay. This all is happening because it’s a grand party and we have to show off as all do but I hate it so I avoid arguments and try to stay natural as much as i can.
The night looked really beautiful for the whole journey. I was looking outside the window admiring the beauty of nature. Soon the car stopped and the driver opened the door for sidhi and guards came to open my door but jay denied and opened the door for me offering me his hand to hold but i didn’t hold his hand and got out of the car but gave a smile to not make things strange.
Then we moved inside. We were welcomed with flower showering on us then Aryan kapoor welcomed us. He greeted my grandparents by touching their feet and shook hands with me and gave a friendly hug to Jay and offered us seats and snacks. On the way to the seat Aryan did little talk with dadu and dadi which means they all are friendly except me. I’m the only outsider in my family- poor me. I feel bad now.
I saw Siya in the party talking to a man so I took permission from grandpa to meet Siya and he said to take sidhi with me and a guard. I went a little far with guard and sidhi than after going far from there eyes i ordered my guard to not follow me and he acted like- it was more like a threat to stay away so i told him to look me with a safe distance then i moved ahead and saw siya was busy talking with a handsome man i thought to not disturb them and enjoy the scene.
I should know my bestie even if I need to stalk her. I asked Sidhi to bring a cold drink for me and she went. I was continuously looking at siya from a distance and started blabbering with exaggeration without minding my surroundings.
“Look at her she has same age as of me. I am also beautiful and pretty. I am also talented. Then why do only she get love? I also want one, god look at her beautiful night, bright lights, pretty girl and a handsome beside. When will you show me your kindness and give me my soulmate. I’m tired of being single. Huh but not yet first succeed then love….” i stopped as a waiter coming from my left side spilled the wine.
I tried to move back to save my dress and due to sudden shock. I fell but someone held me from behind by waist. I opened my eyes and saw me lying my head on his bicep. He was looking in my eyes with concerns. He.. He is perfect definition of handsome man. I.. can’t move my e..eyes from him.
I was lost and then got out of my thoughts by a shiver when he shouted at the waiter. I stood with his help and waiter apologised me and i said “it’s okay nothing happened to me” to waiter and then moved to thank him but i hit my head by his hard chest and “AHHHHH” sound escape from my throat.
He stepped back and apologised but I cut him “it’s not your mistake. I had a little accident that’s why it got hurt. I'm okay "I said, putting my palm on my head rubbing the wound. i continued “Thanks a lot for helping me otherwise i was gone” “mention not princess” he said which made me shocked and sidhi called me to give drink and when i moved back to his side but he wasn’t there.
I took my drink and then i saw siya was free i started moving her side then guards called me then i went near my family and it was the time for announcement aryan was doing announcement starting from the company’s achievements and their goals then chairman gautam kapoor came and appreciated his son who is CEO of their company and called him on the stage and i got shocked it was raghav who held me there to save me from falling.
They were speaking many things but it didn’t get into my head cause i was really busy observing raghav and then they called dadu to the stage he went but not alone he took me to the stage holding my hand but why i looked at sidhi she signalled me to move. So as usual being a princess of the family I held grandpa’s hand royally and went to the stage.
There Gautam uncle welcomed us and said “ Uncle ji is like father to me and we’re family not from blood but from hearts and their blessings made us to today. I see our future together for business and family too.
I would like to announce that we are going to be partner for a project with tech branch of the Singh Rathore industries which will be lead by the princess Pallavi Singh Rathore and The CEO Raghav Kapoor” i smiled listening to his word but “calling me princess is not necessary” i whispered so nobody can hear.
Then they gestured me to shake hands with Raghav and say a few words. “I am eager to make change in the world and I believe small steps lead to big change. I am really excited to start this new project with Mr. Raghav Kapoor. Thanks for this opportunity I'll really learn many lessons from Mr. Kapoor "I said and shook my hand with Raghav and got down the stage with everyone.
‘Why am I getting all the shocks today? I don’t have any idea of the project and they told me to give a speech. It was more like an impromptu speech. The worst part is my first encounter with Raghav. What would he think about me and now I have to work with him for how long that i don’t know yet’ I thought and then I met aunty whom Sidhi hit by car.
I was shocked and suddenly she hugged me…
